Open Access Policy
The Davao Research Journal (DRJ) fully adheres to the principles of open access publishing and is committed to the free and unrestricted dissemination of scholarly knowledge to the global research community. In line with internationally recognized open access declarations and initiatives, including the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), the Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing, and the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, the journal ensures that all published content is made immediately and permanently accessible online without subscription or access fees.
Under this policy, all published articles—including original research articles, review papers, policy briefs, research notes, commentaries, viewpoints, book reviews, editorials, and other scholarly contributions—are freely available to readers worldwide immediately upon publication. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and share the full texts of articles, as well as crawl them for indexing, text and data mining, educational use, research purposes, and other lawful non-commercial and scholarly activities, without financial, legal, or technical barriers beyond those associated with internet access itself.
The journal supports the broad dissemination, visibility, and responsible reuse of scholarly works in ways that promote scientific advancement, collaboration, innovation, education, and evidence-based policymaking. Authors retain recognition and attribution for their published works, and proper citation and acknowledgment of the original source must always be maintained. Any reuse or distribution of published content must preserve the integrity of the work and appropriately credit the author(s) and the journal.
As an open-access journal, DRJ believes that unrestricted access to scientific knowledge strengthens academic exchange, accelerates research impact, enhances public engagement with science, and supports equitable access to information, particularly for researchers, institutions, and communities with limited resources. The journal likewise upholds internationally accepted standards of publication ethics, transparency, and scholarly integrity in all aspects of its editorial and publication processes.
