Inclusion in the Harvard Library Catalogue

Good things follow after one another, as the Davao Research Journal (DRJ) has been included and indexed in the largest catalog of academic library on earth, the Harvard Library Hollis. Here the articles of DRJ published since 1998 have been carefully indexed and included in the digital and article collection of the Harvard Library making sure that the published articles in the DRJ will reach beyond the shores of Davao Oriental and the Philippines. This follows the previous announcement regarding the inclusion of the journal in the BASE database of Germany, owned by the Bielefeld University Library.

The Harvard Library, has 800 staff engaging with scholars and students across more than 25 libraries and around the world. With over 20 million physical and digital items, and vast collections renowned for their global reach and depth, with resources spanning the development of all disciplines and more than 460 languages. Established in 1638, the Harvard Library is known to be the oldest library system in the United States and the world’s largest academic library.

Inclusion in the Bielefeld Academic Search Engine

Following the successful inclusion of DRJ in the SERP-P database, another DRJ milestone is its inclusion in the BASE repository/database of the Bielefeld University where the 133 articles of the journal have been indexed. BASE is one of the world's foremost open access database provider especially for academic web resources. BASE provides more than 340 million documents from more than 11,000 content providers where you can access the full texts of about 60% of the indexed documents for free (Open Access). BASE is operated by Bielefeld University Library (Germany).

BASE boast of the following features:

1. Content providers are indexed only after checking by qualified personnel of Bielefeld University Library.

2. Only document servers and journals that comply with the specific requirements of academic quality and relevance are included.

3. Our list of content providers provides transparency in the searches.

4. Discloses web resources of the "Deep Web", which are ignored by commercial search engines or get lost in the vast quantity of hits.

5. Correction, normalization and enrichment of metadata by means of automated methods.

6. Multilingual search (find search terms in more than 20 translated languages).

7. The display of search results includes precise bibliographic data.

8. Display of access and terms of re-use for a document.

9. Several options for sorting the result list (by author, title, date).

PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN SERP-P AND DRJ

We are excited to announce the partnership between the SocioEconomic Research Portal for the Philippines (SERP-P), and the Davao Research Journal (DRJ).

SERP-P is an online platform or resource center spearheaded by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) which is dedicated to gathering, sharing, and publishing research related to the social and economic aspects of the Philippines, and partners with other social research and academic organizations in the Philippines. SERP-P makes it simpler for academics and decision-makers to find relevant information through their online database to find solutions to address relevant policy problems. Through this partnership, our relevant articles will be carried by the SERP-P platform for further utilization by other stakeholders and users. This will bridge the gap between academia, policymakers, and communities, ensuring that research will be translated into a meaningful action.
